Construction of fuel stations

A Letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for establishing the station.

Procedures

The request for establishing the fuel stations shall be submitted to the Ministry of Energy / Central Committee.
Physical inspection shall be conducted by members of the Central Committee to grant or withhold the approval.
In the event that the results of the inspection were positive it shall be approved unanimously and the concerned party shall be informed to obtain the security and regulatory approvals in addition to the submission of engineering plans to the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection or the Prevention Division in the Directorate concerned.
When constructing the premises of the station, the concerned party shall visit the Prevention Division in the concerned Directorate for the purpose of obtaining an works permit for the station, the required licenses or installing pumps for the station and supplying it with fuel.
The inspection shall be carried out by the prevention officer and a detailed inspection report shall be prepared. If the station meets the requirements, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources shall be addressed to obtain the approval for the installation of the pumps and the supply of fuel.
If the conditions are not met, copy of the inspection form shall be provided to the concerned party to make the required amendments.
The computer officer in the Prevention Department shall enter the station into the early warning system, give it a number and include it within the annual plan for gas and fuel, where the station shall be inspected once a year and to be followed up by the concerned Directorate.
The responsibility of Prevention division / Gas and Fuel Division is to follow-up on the applications received from the Prevention Divisions in the external Directorates. Some applications shall be considered within the areas of competence of the directorates if necessary.
